Julie Peppito was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She received her BFA from The Cooper Union in New York City, her MFA from Alfred University in Alfred, New York and studied abroad at Academie Minerva in The Netherlands. She has lived and worked as an exhibiting artist in New York City for over 20 years.

Peppito has been the subject of five one woman shows and participated in several group exhibits across the United States. She has received several grants including a New York Foundation of the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship and an Andy Warhol Foundation Grant through Living Arts Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She designed sculptures, fountains and mosaics for Underhill Playground in Brooklyn, New York and is currently working on designs for JJ Byrne Playground, also in Brooklyn. She is currently represented by Heskin Contemporary in New York City.
